So you wrote a Book
and want to get it published.
Well . . . you have a choice of six things you can do.
1 Hire an agent to take your book around to traditional publishing houses.
* Well, if you can afford to do this, you don’t need me.
2 Take it to Kinko’s and have some copies printed to give out to friends.
* This is the least expensive thing you can do other than just sending them your electronic file and call it an eBook.
3 Take your book to a vanity press that give you a lot of false promises and charges you a lot of money for a bunch of copies that are never sold.
* Only you can promote and sell your book. No promotion, no sales.
* There are a lot of unhappy people with a garage full of unsold books.
4 You can have me make your book in an eBook.
* I can put it into the correct form with cover art, table of content, headers, footers, indexes, etc.
* I can send it to some eBookstores including my own, and on your own website.
* This is not very expensive as all you have to do is pay for my time.
* The price per book is much lower than a pBook as there is no printing, storage or shipping costs.
* Your book is available for those who want to read them on devices such as laptop computer, PDA, cell phones, readers, etc.
5 Publish your book with print on demand (POD) technology.
* With only a few changes, you can have it both ways, an eBook and a pBook.
* You pay less than a couple of hundred dollars to have it entered into the computer of a division of Ingram Books, the largest book distributor in North American.
* They then print out copies on a laser printer as they are ordered by bookstores and you. You have a large selection of colored cover styles.
* The price per copy is the same no matter how many copies are printed. It is a little higher than traditional printing but you don’t have to put up a lot of money up front and only have to buy copies as your need them -- no storage costs.
* The quality is about the same as a print book.
* Your book is included in Ingram’s catalog of books in print and is available from Amazon.com and can be ordered from any other bookstore in the country. It’s a real thrill to go into a Barns & Nobel, type you name or title into their computer, and see your book pop up.
So what are you waiting for. It won’t cost you anything to call me or send me an email.
